Shuttle
Sci-fi
Page 1
The shuttle, Aether Horizon, lifted off from Earth under a vibrant sunrise, its sleek metal frame cutting through the pale blue sky as passengers peered out of the large windows, their eyes filled with wonder. It was an ordinary journey for most an escape from the grind of daily life to the icy peaks of Pluto's ski resorts, far away from the bustling cities below.
Among the crowd, Nandi, a bright-eyed woman in her thirties, sat beside her son, Refiloe, a curious twelve-year-old boy whose face radiated excitement.
"Can you believe it, Mom? Skiing on Pluto!" Refiloe marveled, tapping his mother’s arm as they strapped themselves into their seats.
Nandi smiled, ruffling his hair. "It’s going to be the best holiday, darling. Just you wait."
The passengers settled into their seats, anticipating the long, but exciting, journey. The shuttle’s hum was steady and soothing as they ascended beyond Earth's atmosphere, the gravitational pull becoming lighter.
Outside, the stars twinkled in the vast, endless expanse of space, their glow reflected in the sleek, metallic hull of the shuttle. The crew, efficient and professional, moved about their duties, preparing for the long stretch of travel.
The flight attendants ensured everyone was comfortable, checking seat belts and offering refreshments.
