Pinsmack is operated by McMouse Management Pty Ltd (“Pinsmack”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, store and protect personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pinsmack website, mobile applications and digital reading services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Pinsmack and may include:

Account Information

When you create or use a Pinsmack account, we may collect:

• your name;

• email address;

• mobile number;

• country or region;

• account and profile information; and

• communication preferences.

We may use your mobile number for account verification, including sending one-time verification codes (OTP), and to help protect access to your account.

Household and Profile Information

Pinsmack accounts may contain multiple household profiles. We may collect:

• profile names;

• profile type, such as standard or kids;

• selected avatar;

• reading and content preferences; and

• profile and parental settings.

The account holder is responsible for managing profiles within their household.

Subscription and Transaction Information

When you subscribe to Pinsmack, we may receive information relating to your:

• subscription plan and status;

• transaction or billing status;

• subscription start, renewal or expiry;

• trial status; and

• transaction or subscription identifiers.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or app marketplaces is subject to their respective privacy practices.

Reading Information

To provide Pinsmack's reading features, we may collect information such as:

• books you access;

• your library;

• reading progress and position;

• bookmarks;

• reader settings and preferences;

• downloaded books;

• reading history; and

• interactions with Pinsmack content.

This allows us to provide features including Continue Reading, bookmarks, offline reading, recommendations and reading progress synchronisation.

Device, Usage and Technical Information

When you use Pinsmack, we may automatically collect technical and usage information such as:

• device type and operating system;

• application version;

• IP address;

• browser information;

• application or device identifiers;

• pages or screens viewed;

• features and searches used;

• session information;

• crash and diagnostic information; and

• application performance information.

We use this information to operate, secure, maintain and improve Pinsmack.

• create and manage Pinsmack accounts and profiles;

• authenticate users and verify mobile numbers;

• provide access to books and other content;

• manage subscriptions and content entitlements;

• synchronise reading progress, bookmarks and preferences;

• provide household and Kids Mode features;

• personalise content and recommendations;

• operate search;

• provide customer support;

• communicate important account, subscription or service information;

• send marketing communications where permitted;

• monitor performance and diagnose technical problems;

• prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access;

• develop and improve Pinsmack; and

3. Kids Profiles

Pinsmack may provide Kids Mode or kids profiles as part of a household account.

Kids profiles are managed by the account holder and are not intended to operate as independent customer accounts.

Information associated with a kids profile may be used to provide that profile's reading experience, preferences, progress and parental settings.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Pinsmack website may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, support authentication, understand website usage, improve performance and maintain security. Some service providers may also use cookies or similar technologies when providing services to Pinsmack.

Pinsmack does not sell personal information to advertisers.

5. Service Providers

We may share personal information with trusted service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Pinsmack.

These may include providers of:

• cloud infrastructure and data storage;

• payment processing;

• app distribution and subscriptions;

• mobile verification and communications;

• analytics and diagnostics;

• security and fraud prevention; and

• professional or legal services.

Depending on the Services you use, these providers may include companies such as Amazon Web Services, Stripe, Apple and Google.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law or where reasonably necessary to protect Pinsmack, our customers or our legal rights.

6. Overseas Processing

Some of our technology and service providers operate infrastructure outside Australia.

Personal information may therefore be processed or stored outside Australia where our cloud, payment, communications, analytics or application providers operate. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate safeguards when personal information is handled outside Australia.

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse. These measures may include secure communications, authentication and verification controls, restricted administrative access, access controls, monitoring and secure cloud infrastructure.

No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Offline Content

Pinsmack may allow subscribers to download books for offline reading.

Downloaded content may be stored on a customer's device using measures designed to protect the content from unauthorised access or distribution. Access to downloaded content may depend on the relevant account, profile and subscription status.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Pinsmack, comply with legal or regulatory obligations, maintain transaction records, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes and protect our legal rights. When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, destroyed or de-identified. You may request deletion of your Pinsmack account and associated personal information through the account deletion functionality provided by Pinsmack or by contacting support@pinsmack.com.

We may verify that a deletion request was made by the account holder.

Deleting an account may permanently remove associated household profiles, reading progress, preferences, bookmarks and other account information.

Some records may be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary for matters such as financial records, security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations.

Subscriptions managed by an app marketplace or another third party may need to be cancelled separately through that provider.

10. Access, Correction and Privacy Requests

You may update certain account and profile information through Pinsmack.

You may also contact us to:

• request access to personal information we hold about you;

• request correction of inaccurate information;

• request deletion of eligible personal information;

• withdraw consent where applicable;

• manage marketing communications; or

• raise a privacy concern or complaint.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Privacy rights may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.

We may contact you with information necessary to operate your account, including security, subscription and service communications. If you choose to receive marketing communications, we may also contact you about new books, features, releases, promotions or other Pinsmack news. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Pinsmack, our technology or our legal obligations change. The current version will be published through Pinsmack with the Last updated date shown at the top. Where appropriate, we may provide additional notice of significant changes.
