Beauty

Contemporary Poetry

When we judge someone based on their appearance,

We're only scratching the surface of who they truly are.

We miss out on the depth and richness of their character,

And we limit our own potential for growth.

It's easy to fall into the trap of stereotypes,

And to make assumptions based on what we see.

But when we take the time to listen and learn,

We open ourselves up to a world of possibility.

Book description

This collection of poems delves into the complexities of appearance. From the illusion of beauty to the limitations of judgments based on looks, these poems challenge surface-level assessments and highlight the damaging effects of appearance-focused standards. They also shed light on the pitfalls of implementing inadequate "dress for success" ideals and the exploitation enabled by appearance-based judgments in the gig economy.
